Apart from structural wood preservation measures, there are a number of different (chemical) preservatives and processes that can extend the life of wood, timber, wood structures or engineered wood. These generally increase the durability and resistance from being destroyed by insects or fungus.
ACQ Pressure Treated
ACQ is wood treated with a preservative made of copper, a fungicide, and a compound that assists as an insecticide which also augments the fungicidal treatment. This creates a product that can withstand direct contact with the ground and moisture contact. ACQ is less harmful than previous preservatives, as the main fungicide preservative is copper.
