Sound Cedar Lumber, a Cedar specialty store, was founded in 1980 in Downtown Conway. Over the years, it has moved a few times before moving to our present location at 2600 Cedardale Road in Mount Vernon. We have currently been at this location for over 20 years and love our spot right off I-5.
In 2018, after working at Sound Cedar Lumber for 12 years, Robert Desmarais bought the business from the original owners. With the help of his family, his hard-working crew, and an amazing community, Robert has transformed the store into not only a cedar specialty store, but a lot more as well. Since 2018 we have added about 6 times the inventory of the previous owners and have added many more product lines including composite decking and cement board siding.
Our 8,000 sq ft showroom and 14,000 sq ft warehouse are stocked full of just about everything you need to finish your next project. We know time is money for our customers, so we always do our best to have as much on hand as we can to get you out the door and back to your job site! From fasteners, stain and hardware to timbers, siding, metal roofing and more, we’ve got you covered.
We are fortunate to have an excellent and knowledgeable crew helping us on the front lines and behind the scenes. Our sales crew have extensive knowledge in construction and can help educate our customers on products from both a dealer and personal-use perspective. Out in the warehouse you’ll find employees who have been here for over 20 years! Everyone’s experiences and skills keep us working like a well-oiled machine.
